During May to August 2018, (see here for full dates and details) the beautifully restored historic 1960 built 47′ Watson Class lifeboat ON958 “Laura Moncur” now owned and maintained by Mark Waltham and his sister Niki, will undertake a privately funded tour of the UK and Ireland raising funds for the RNLI.
She will visit all the RNLI stations she either worked at or called into during her working life with the RNLI between 1961 – 1988.
Mark and Niki are looking for a volunteer crew member on each leg of the tour, who can assist under passage, persons with some (even a little is fine) seagoing experience would be ideal for this role. There is no cost to the crew to join them on the voyage but you will be expected to provide your own succor as required.
There are additional places (up to 2 per leg) available for each leg as a passenger/guest, anyone with or without seagoing experience is eligible for this role. They ask for a minimum donation of £1 per nautical mile which will be added to the total raised for the RNLI.
If the chance to experience a voyage in a genuine historic ex RNLI lifeboat equipped with twin iconic Gardner 5LW engines appeals to you, then email Mark to book your place onboard at; ON958@talktalk.net
