After cancellations due to the pandemic we have planned the RNLI Lifeboat Enthusiasts’ Autumn Meeting to take place at the Chatham Historic Dockyard on October 23rd 2021.
The event will take place from 2pm in the Edward Hall Room (in the Smithy), The Historic Dockyard, Chatham, ME4 4TE.
Members and guests wishing to attend and who haven’t booked yet should do so ASAP as places are limited, with Peter Woolhouse – peter_woolhouse@RNLI.org.uk
The guest speaker will be Callum Ives recounting the final preparations and first full sea voyage after over 20 years of his historic 1969 built, ex RNLI Peterhead and Lizard Solent Class Lifeboat, ON1008, 48-005, James And Mariska Joicey this September from Coleraine in Northern Ireland to Falmouth in Cornwall.
There will be a Lifeboat Memorabilia sale and after the lockdown periods there will be much fresh stock available to buy. If members have some memorabilia items to sell these can be brought to the meeting.
Do make every effort to attend the meeting, our first in 2 years and also visit the fantastic RNLI Historic Lifeboat Collection which will be open to us on the day thanks to the HLC volunteers who will be in attendance.
Obviously should Covid regulations change and the meeting need to be postponed, we will advise all in a timely manner. Fingers crossed that all will be well and we look forward to seeing everyone there who can attend.
